TV – So I found myself singing the theme tune to the 90s game show Big Break this morning. This got me thinking of how much some TV shows from back then had some great, catchy intros. Here’s a list of some of the ones I just can’t seem to forget. For better or worse.

X-men: The Animated Series

Let’s just start at the best. There is no opening to a TV show that has ever been, nor will ever be, as good as this.

Fun House

I don’t know anybody that didn’t want to be on this show. It really did look like a whole lot of fun, and really did have prizes to be won!

Oh the Grant twins…..

Bullseye

I don’t know if I actually like this one. But that piano and those whistles and pops have stuck in my brain and return at random times. Bringing with them such fond memories of times spent at my Nannas. Oh, and those prizes! I still shout out IIIIIINNNN ONE at the thought of buying that new dishwasher. Jim Bowen, Superstar.

Imagine winning a speedboat whilst living at one of the furthest points in the country from a large body of water.

Round the Twist

If you know, you know. What a tune.

Trap Door

To this day I find myself screaming out not to open that trap door. It makes watching Evil Dead a confusing time for everyone.

Theres something down there.

The Chipmunks

Living rent free in the music hole in my brain alongside the likes of Crazy Frog and Barbie Girl. Hearing this tune come on the TV was the quickest way to make me reach for the remote.

Nope.

Get in touch and let us know any of those tunes you just can’t get rid of. Sharing is caring.

By Rob

When not dodging Romulan disruptors or negotiating peace treaties with Tribbles, you’ll find him spending time with his family, walking his dogs, placating to the every need of his cat overlords, or writing nonsense Star Trek sketches. When approached by long time friend Tom to better aim his creative energies, he jumped at the chance.
