So, I received an email from Microsoft yesterday. “A limited set of games, add-ons and in game content” is being removed from the Xbox 360 store.

Microsoft e-mail detailing the loss of content.

Call me a sceptical old man, but this is one of those moments that feels like the beginning of the end. How long before some of these games, that are only available digitally, are lost forever? TJ and I both come from a place of growing up with the physical media. Physical items that when brought, are ours to keep, although in the case of VHS, however long they last! Maybe because of this, we are holding on to those days and that way of thinking. ‘I own this! This is mine! You can’t take this away from me evil corporate overlord!’

I imagine though, newer generations, growing up with all their TV and Movies streamed, their whole PC library stored in the Steam/Epic cloud, just won’t care. Pay their money, play it a while, never worry about it again.

But for me, let me blow on that cartridge and shove a pencil in that cassette!

When not dodging Romulan disruptors or negotiating peace treaties with Tribbles, you’ll find him spending time with his family, walking his dogs, placating to the every need of his cat overlords, or writing nonsense Star Trek sketches. When approached by long time friend Tom to better aim his creative energies, he jumped at the chance.
